Polypropylene high-strength filament in early April: Lightweight yet highly strong, with stable load-bearing capacity! 


In early April, spring farming, logistics and construction projects enter a busy period, placing higher demands on the strength and durability of industrial textiles. Polypropylene high-strength yarn is made from high-quality polypropylene through high-doubling drawing and heat setting processes. It maintains the lightweight characteristics of polypropylene while achieving a high breaking strength, providing a reliable load-bearing foundation for products such as lifting belts, traction ropes, container bags and safety nets. 


Strength enhanced, reliability ensured


The breaking strength of Polypropylene high-strength filament typically ranges from 6.5 to 8.5 grams per denier, showing a significant improvement compared to ordinary polypropylene fibers. Through multiple stages of thermal stretching, the orientation of the molecular chains along the fiber axis increases, and the crystalline structure becomes more complete, enabling the single fiber to withstand greater tension without breaking easily. This characteristic makes it suitable for industrial applications that require repeated stress or static load-bearing. 


Low density, lightweight products


Polypropylene has the lowest density among all common synthetic fibers, approximately 0.91 grams per cubic centimeter. At the same diameter, the high-strength fibers of polypropylene are about 30% lighter than those of polyester and nylon. The sling or towing rope made from it is lighter in weight, making it easier to handle, coil, and operate on-site, and it also imposes less additional load on the transportation equipment. 


Resistant to acid and alkali, with wide application scenarios


Polypropylene has good tolerance to most acids, alkalis and chemical solvents. The Polypropylene high-strength filament of polypropylene maintain a high strength retention rate when exposed to seawater, fertilizers, cement slurries and weakly corrosive media, and are not prone to degradation or brittleness. Therefore, it is suitable for use in chemical packaging bags, geotextile grids, fish farming cages and outdoor mooring ropes in humid or corrosive environments. 


Low creep, stable dimensions


The Polypropylene high-strength filament that has undergone thorough heat setting treatment has a low elongation rate under continuous stress, and the creep phenomenon is effectively controlled. When used as lifting straps or binding straps for container bags, the length change is small after long-term loading, and there is no need to frequently re-tighten, ensuring the stability of the goods during transportation. 


Anti-ultraviolet, delaying aging


By adding ultraviolet-resistant masterbatch, polypropylene high-strength yarn can have better weather resistance. During long-term outdoor use, the rate of strength decline slows down, and the appearance of surface powdering or cracking is postponed. This specification is particularly suitable for applications such as sunshade nets, building safety nets, and open-air storage and transportation shelters. 


Flexible specifications, meeting diverse needs


Polypropylene high-strength filaments can be made into combinations of different linear densities, breaking strengths and elongations. The color can be customized using color masterbatches to meet various requirements ranging from lightweight bundling to heavy-duty lifting rigging. The products are supplied in bale or twisted form, and the unwinding is smooth. 


Choosing polypropylene high-strength yarn means using lightweight materials to meet the demanding requirements of high-strength operations. In early April, it was being woven into slings, ropes and packaging bags, and was performing a solid supporting role in ports, fields and construction sites.
